Park Homes Now Qualify for £9,000 Heat Pump Grants!

Recent changes to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme mean park homes that were previously excluded can now apply. ASI Renewables handles the whole process, from eligibility check to installation.

The Problem, Briefly.

Most park homes have never had an Energy Performance Certificate. It’s not something most owners ever needed to arrange, and many sites were built or sold long before EPCs became commonplace. For years, though, that one missing document was enough to rule park homes out of the government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme entirely, even though the homes themselves met every other requirement for a grant. Owners who wanted to move away from oil or LPG heating simply had no route into the scheme, regardless of how much they stood to save. That changed in April 2026, when the rules were rewritten to remove the EPC requirement altogether.

What Changed?

On 28 April 2026, new regulations rewrote the Boiler Upgrade Scheme and removed the Energy Performance Certificate requirement for good. If your park home already has an EPC, your installer will still include the certificate number as part of the application. If it doesn’t, that’s no longer a problem – your installer can submit alternative evidence instead, such as a recent utility bill, a fuel receipt, or photographs of your existing heating system. The scheme itself has also been extended, running now until 2030, so there’s no need to rush into a decision. For park home owners, the practical effect is simple: the single biggest barrier to claiming this grant has been removed, and the process now works the same way it does for any other home.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do I need an EPC to apply?

No. Since April 2026, an Energy Performance Certificate is no longer required. If your park home doesn’t have one, we can submit alternative evidence on your behalf, such as a recent utility bill or photographs of your existing heating system.

No. The grant only applies to park homes on sites with residential planning permission, used as a main residence. Holiday and leisure homes don’t qualify, even if you live there for part of the year.

Yes, if you’re replacing it with an eligible heat pump, you can claim the standard rate of £7,500. The higher £9,000 rate is reserved for homes currently on oil or LPG.

This is rare when a survey has confirmed eligibility beforehand, which is why we check everything upfront before quoting. If an application is refused, you won’t be left with a bill for work that hasn’t gone ahead.

No. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme covers England and Wales only. Homeowners in Scotland should look at Home Energy Scotland, which offers its own grants and loans for low-carbon heating.

This varies by property and installer schedule, but most customers move from survey to completed installation within a few weeks. We’ll give you a more specific timeframe once we’ve assessed your home.
